- For the wings:
4-6 Turkey Wings, separated at joints
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp poultry seasoning
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp cayenne (optional)
- For the gravy:
1 large onion
1 bell pepper (green or yellow), sliced
3-4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
3 cups chicken broth (or turkey broth)
1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, for creamier gravy)
1 tsp Worcestershire
1 tsp chicken bouillon
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions
- Pat wings dry
- Toss with olive oil and all seasonings.
- Arrange in a baking dish or roasting pan.
- Sear for flavor (optional but worth it)
- Brown the wings in a hot skillet for 3–4 minutes per side.
- Transfer back to baking pan.
- Make the gravy
- In a skillet, melt butter.
- Add onions + peppers and sauté 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic for 1 minute.
- Sprinkle in flour and stir until golden (2–3 minutes).
- Add Worcestershire, bouillon and heavy cream
- Slowly pour in broth while whisking.
- Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Smother the wings
- Pour gravy all over the turkey wings in the pan & cover tightly with foil.
- Bake at 350°F for 2.5–3 hours, until tender.
- Remove foil the last 20 minutes to brown.
- Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or with roasted carrots.
Notes
- Add 1-2 whole bay leaves to the gravy while baking for deeper flavor.
