1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
3 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup stone-ground grits
2 cups water
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
2 tbsp butter (for grits)
Salt & pepper, to taste
Directions
- Cook grits with water, cream, butter, and cheese until thick and creamy.
- Season shrimp with Cajun spice.
- In a skillet, melt butter and saute garlic until fragrant.
- Add shrimp; cook until pink (2-3 min).
- Pour in broth and simmer 3 min for a buttery sauce.
- Spoon grits into bowls, top with shrimp and drizzle garlic butter sauce over.
Notes
- Top with green onions or crumbled bacon for extra flavor.
