Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined

  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning

  • 3 tbsp butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup stone-ground grits

  • 2 cups water

  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar

  • 2 tbsp butter (for grits)

  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Directions

  • Cook grits with water, cream, butter, and cheese until thick and creamy.
  • Season shrimp with Cajun spice.
  • In a skillet, melt butter and saute garlic until fragrant.
  • Add shrimp; cook until pink (2-3 min).
  • Pour in broth and simmer 3 min for a buttery sauce.
  • Spoon grits into bowls, top with shrimp and drizzle garlic butter sauce over.

Notes

  • Top with green onions or crumbled bacon for extra flavor.
